A patch of pumpkins

My girls have become obsessed with pumpkins this fall. One day, we were at Jenny's house and she was reading the girls stories. Because she's a teacher (and because she has an incredible love for children's books), she's got all sorts of children's books for the different holidays/seasons. After a few Halloween books, my girls were hooked and ever since then, they talk about pumpkins constantly. We've had a decent sized one as well as two tiny ones on our porch for weeks, but we decided to take them to an actual pumpkin patch. It was really neat, complete with a mountain of hay, a small petting zoo (horses and goats) a roaming cat, tractors a store with fresh produce and potential hay rides (although we went at the wrong time). It was great!

If this picture has sound, you'd be hearing the squeals and "pum-kin! pum-kin!"

The girls thought we should take them all home...

And my attempt. Josh was more successful.

We ended up leaving with 3 new pumpkins, one honeydew, 6 apples and two grumpy babies.

And if you could, we'd love to have a vote from you in this little facebook contest we're in. You can vote daily until the end of the month. Just click on the picture to get you to the contest. Thanks!

  1. That's the same patch we went to! Except we went at 6:30 on a Monday night, so there were like 200 people there!
Also, that horse bit Grey BIG TIME. Like, chewed on his hand while Grey screamed.
And your girls are adorable. And you are.
