Around September 7, our family will look like....

Ok, so it will be a little different. Some of the differences?
-Our baby wont be baby Max
-Our baby might not be a boy
-Our baby hopefully wont be the size of a 3 week old {however, I'm not holding my breath}.

However, for those of you who haven't heard {basically everyone in Provo and random blog stalkers} we're expecting our first little one on September 7th {which means I'm a few days shy of being 9 weeks}. We wanted to wait a few more weeks before we broke the big news, but seeing as a lot of our Logan friends have figured it out because I'm HORRIBLE at keeping secrets, we thought we'd just spill the beans to everyone. We realize we're not out of the woods yet, but it's been driving us crazy trying to keep track of who knows and who doesn't, so there you have it. This was the best Christmas present Josh and I could ask for. {Yes, it's even better than the cotton candy machine...} We are thrilled, a little terrified, and very humbled at the thought of having a child. And we CAN'T WAIT for September to have a little Josh...or a little Brittany

You know it's going to be a good day when

you turn on the tv and Life-Size is on.

I've been waiting 3 1/2 years for this...

Ever since I left my parents home back in August '06 I've been missing something: a washer and dryer in my home. Now, this is pretty common among college students and I've gotten used to it and at times have even enjoyed it. However, a few days ago while we were doing laundry, I thought I was going to die. That may seem a bit dramatic, but it's true. It was late, I didn't feel fantastic, I was grumpy, tired, and did not want to be at the laundromat doing 2+ weeks worth of laundry. The next day (well maybe it was a few days later) I was walking in the tsc when I glanced at the classifieds board. To my utter excitement I saw a little blue card that said, "washer and dryer works great. $100 for the pair" My heart skipped a beat and I quickly sent Josh a message asking if we should call. We did and went to see them yesterday. I was like a kid on Christmas morning! We brought home our two little bundles of joy and I can sense that my life will never be the same. I'm beyond thrilled! Yay for never having to get quarters again! Yay for being able to do laundry on your own time and not having to schedule it in! Yay for only folding one load at a time and not 8 like we're used to! This is good guys, this is good.

{I was having a hard time taking a picture of these things because they're not centered in the closet and the pictures I was taking looked weird. Oh well, you get the idea...}

Favorite {well second favorite} text of the week

"Hey remember that one time when at dinner 30 seconds ago I said, ' hey family did we get anymore ice cream?' and no one answered even though I said it 2 more times?"

The funniest thing about this is that my sister is the only kid at home. This means it was her, my mom, and my dad all sitting silently around the dinner table. Poor Kelsey, I promise we all love you.

Sorry my posts have been pretty lame lately. I can't seem to find anything to say. However, I'll leave you with one of my favorite moments of this weekend.

Just what the Dr. ordered

I've been feeling under the weather lately. Juggling school, work, this dreary weather and a few other things have been weighing me down the past week or so. However, life is good and I'm sure I'll get out of this rutt soon. Luckily, there are things like the following video that make my world a happy place once again. Enjoy.



Another thing that has me happy this week is the return of Jack Bauer. Love it.

One last thing, Avatar was...kinda boring. Pocahontas + Fern Gully + Dances with Wolves + a billion dollars + a headache + 3 hours = Avatar. But that's just my opinion and I know the vast majority of the population would argue with me...

Gross. I've always disliked that name. {uh, no offense if you are named Shawn or Sean or if a loved one is...}

Really though, I'm glad I married Josh and not Shawn.

Worst air in the nation

Congratulations, Cache Valley. You've been awarded as having "the worst air in the nation" Seriously, it looks like Narnia up here. Everything is frosted over, you can't see anything at night and you can't be outside for more that 5 minutes without coughing and contracting a fatal disease. It's weeks like this that I loose hope that warm weather will ever get here.

A few days ago we went ice skating down in the island with Hailey and Challis. I'd never been ice skating outside on legit ice before, so it was a real treat. Besides the fact that it was pushing negative temps, they were out of hot chocolate and there was mysterious blood on the ice, it was a really fun. Challis snagged this lovely picture with his phone. Thanks guys for a fun double date!
p.s the title of the post is in honor of the Golden Girl's theme song which is apparently a real song with multiple verses sung by a guy. Who knew? They played it at the park and my mind was absolutely blown away.

I apologize for my grumpiness

As you can tell by the post below, today did not start out great. In fact, nothing about today has been particularly enjoyable. However, I realize I need to still be happy and not be such a grump. Luckily, when I find pictures such as the following I get happy again.

Seriously, is this not great? Also, I wanted to point something out. I registered my blog the other day to a website that tells you the cities people are from who visit your blog. It also tells you the time they got on as well as the links they took to get to it. Talk about interesting. For example, today my blog had gotten over 30 hits. Most of them are from Utah {namely Provo area/Logan area} but some of them are from the most random places like New Jersey, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Ohio. Now, I can't condemn blog stalkers because I do it all the time, I just think it's interesting that so many strangers read this. I don't put anything too personal on it, but it makes you think. I don't think I would ever go private, but it does make you second guess everything you put on a blog. Am I really comfortable with letting random strangers see a "virtual tour" of my home? Probably not. What about millions of pictures of my future babies and details about their progress? Probably not either. I'll be honest, if your blog is private, I don't read it a fraction as much as I read non private blogs. Maybe it's because I don't see when they are updated. So, I don't know if I want my blog private, but like I said, I really will analyze everything I put up here. I'm sure you blog stalkers aren't creepers, but just in case I've got my eyes on you...Mwahaha. ;)

p.p.s. The site can also tell if someone searched google for your blog. So, person who googled "Brittany and Josh Mangelson" yesterday...I know you're out there somewhere in Salt Lake.

Somtimes sarcasm gets the best of me

I love

• spending over an hour filling out applications online and having to start over several times
• calling for an interview and having so many options for extensions that I almost start crying
  
• after hanging up and starting over 6 times, finally getting to talk to a real person
• realizing that once I talk to a real person, I have to verify EVERY little "dotted i" on the application
• Being put on hold 3 times totaling more than twenty minutes
• after 57 confusing minutes on the phone finally being able to hang up
  
• still not having a lot of my questions answered

Yep. Those are things I love.

Dear eyebrows,

You are very bushy and I can't seem to find my tweezers anywhere and have no motivation to do anything about it. I'm terribly sorry, but you'll be bushy for yet another day.

2010

It's cliche, but I'm doing it. I wont call this a list of "goals" or "resolutions" but simply a list of how I hope the next twelve months will change me. I hope by December of 2010 I can say I...

* Learned to be more patient
* Put family first above other priorities
* Spent more time outside
* Attended the temple more frequently
* Worried a whole lot less and lived a whole lot more
* Simplified everything
* Didn't pay attention as much to people's opinions
* Spent most of my time laughing with Josh
