The bane of my existence

College. That is the bane of my existence. I used to love it. I really did. I loved riding the shuttle up to USU's beautiful campus. I loved my Sociology classes and hearing from cross dressing guest speakers. I loved my roommates. I loved Hamburger Tuesdays. I loved the late nights. I loved the random parties and concerts. I loved meeting new people. I loved my job. I loved my unique relationship with my now husband. I really, really, really loved college.

Now? I hate it. SO SO much hate. You see, college now consists of me sitting at my computer screen and teaching myself the material. It's not even material that I give a crap about either. I did college backwards and ignored all the classes I didn't want to take and got the awesome stuff done first. So now, here I am and in a few months I'll start my SEVENTH year of college. 7th. What the crap? I'm so over this! I've got three classes left. Stats 1040, social stats and my capstone. You know what that means? I have THREE more semesters because every class I have is a freakin' prerequisite of the next. Comical, right? No. Piss poor planning is more like it.

And guess what else? I've already failed stats 1040. Failed with a literal F on my transcript. Granted, I'm pretty sure I took it the semester that Josh and I were "just friends" after we had tried the dating thing. We lived across the hall from each other which meant that I hated life because I really like him. So... let's just say it wasn't my best academic semester to date.

But still, I suck at math. I'm not just one of those girls who's like, "OMG!!! I suck at math! It's so hard and I hate it! I get a freakin' B in every math class because it's SO hard!"

Um. No. If you're one of those people, I want to kick you. I get real failing grades in math. In fact, I haven't taken a math class since high school that I haven't failed the first time. I don't think I've gotten higher than a {barely} B- in any math class ever. I just suck at math. It makes zero sense. I can usually fake it enough to get {barely} passing grades on tests, but truthfully, none of it makes sense.

I despise math. I hate how there's only one right answer. I'm a sociologist. I like exploring ideas, brainstorming, coming up with new ways of looking at something. I don't like black and white thinking and I don't like things that lack any and all creativity. Math? You make one tiny mistake and there goes your entire life. You suck. You fail. The end.

Are you catching my drift? I don't like math. I have two stats classes to take before I get my degree. A lot of people I know say that stats is their favorite kind of math because it's actually applicable and more interesting than punching numbers into an algebraic equation. While I do agree with this to an extent, I'm still scared because I know that a lot of it didn't make sense the first time I took it. I'm hoping that the second time is easier, but in reality I know I need to be prepping myself now.

Which is why I purchased this little beauty.

Except I'm getting ahead of myself. I can't just sign up for stats. I have to test into stats and ask me how much I'm prepared for that? This is hopeless. At this rate, I'm just going to sign up for the last couple sociology classes I haven't taken (yes, I've basically taken every single one that USU offers) and call it good. I mean, if it's already going to take me 9 years to get my Bachelor degree, what's one more? I should probably just make it an even 10, right?

College can suck it.
